Day 29 5.4.10

Wikipedia- Yes I would allow my students to use wikipedia because of the sources that can be found within the Work Sited page.. Although this site can be misleading a lot of the work sited links can be used. I think teachers should allow wikipedia but should warn the students not to go completely of the wikipedia information.

Day 28 4.29.10

Today we looked up websites that were not true and we had to find clues on why this site was false. So we took our own thoughts and thought out loud by showing the details using Jing.

The conclusions that I came up with was
*It was a commercial site
*The dogs would be shipped off in wooden crates with now comfort or holes to breath.
* The founders are from the City of Pexian (which is not a real city)
* and if you google dogs island it is off the coast of flordia and it a human island of 100 residents.

Day 27 4.27.10

Today we learned about how we can use the certain websites to tell us whether or not they are reliable websites such as wikipedia...although teachers will not except this website as a reference you can find websites on wikipedias bibliography to help you out with finding other resources. Triangulate is another site you can use as a reliable source.

Day 26 4.22.10

I learned that smarts boards are very benifical towards science and and history classes but I think the teachers who use these smart boards should be required to take a class because the smart baords are very touchy and sometimes hard to use if you have never used one before. School shouldn't automatically by them because they would be wasing their money if the teachers never used them due to the disadvantage of not knowing how they are used.

Day 25 4.20.10

I think in some classrooms a smart board is worth the investment but not all classrooms should have it. I think classes such as much shouldn't really have them because in music, I believe the students should have more hands on learning with instruments and other music type qualities. I mean there are some websites you can use to to play games and use teachnology such as; some music theory and notaions computers programs but what would happen if you don't have the money to buy those programs the smartboard would be useless and plus the music department is usually the most underfunded classroom and the money would go more insturmental repair and sheet music.

Day 24 4.15.10

Smartboards help teachers meet the standards because we have the ability to adapt lessons through the world of technogoly. Smartboards lets a student use creativity and allows students to interact with each other. They can make lessons more fun and and creative for the students. Our lesson that we will be exploring is how to disect a frog and learn about how the frog body works.

2a. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.

Day 23 4.13.10

Today in class we started learning about the wonders of smart board because they are becoming more common in schools. My school however did not have smart boards... I don't think they were around 'cause I graduate in 2004. In the article "Interactive Whiteboards and Learning: A Review of Classroom Case Studies
and Research Literature."
The article Observations from the United States
"Does the use of an interactive whiteboard as an instructional tool affect student engagement? The unequivocal answer, based on the results of both the surveys and
questionnaires, is yes. The results of the survey indicate that interactive whiteboards can be used in the classroom to increase student engagement during the
learning process" (Beeland 2002). This quote explains why smart boards would be worth the investment. The smart board will encourage students to work together in groups or teams. This will help students learn things more creativity. Smarts boards will also keep the students more interested because technology is so commonly used today. The teacher can as well be more interactive with it instead of sitting behind a computer, they can make there lessons more interesting.
